Ultimately, the final candidate from a Big Pharma company joined the company, was successfully onboarded, and completed the probationary period, ensuring business continuity and successful leadership transition.

Background:

Due to an internal promotion within the client’s organizational structure, the current Medical Director transitioned to a regional-level role. The Medical Director Ukraine position is a critical role within the company’s management team, requiring strong clinical and scientific expertise, extensive experience in leadership positions within medical departments of the pharmaceutical industry, and a solid background in medico-marketing. The ideal candidate also needed a proven track record of success in launch excellence, pipeline management, and business acumen.

Approach:

Grounded in a deep understanding of the client's business, culture, and an in-depth analysis of target companies, Eirhub's consultants crafted a detailed hiring strategy. This multi-channel approach integrated a strategic communications plan, a targeted advertising campaign, and proactive direct search methods. This process enabled the team to build a comprehensive longlist, which was then refined into a final shortlist of the most suitable candidates for the Medical Director role.

Our talent mapping strategy was designed to ensure comprehensive market coverage by targeting three primary candidate profiles:

  • Seated Medical Directors at innovative biopharma companies.
  • Medical Directors at generic companies who possessed previous experience with innovative medicines.
  • Medical Affairs Managers from innovative companies who were identified as high-potential and ready for a logical career progression.

We compiled a longlist of 34 candidates and presented a qualified shortlist of the 7 most relevant profiles to the client. The client’s final choice was a seasoned Medical Affairs Manager from an innovative company. This candidate's expertise included developing medical affairs strategies, leading teams, and participating in cross-functional international projects, all backed by a strong scientific background in specific therapeutic areas.
